Asbestos Testing

Asbestos testing will rule out whether or not you need to have asbestos removed. This is important if you're thinking of renovating.

Why you need testing and advice

If you’re thinking of renovating your property, you’ll need to get a test for the substances or contaminants you suspect you have to confirm their presence in your building or structure. As soon as you start renovation plans, you become a PCBU (Person Conducting Business or Undertaking) and you are therefore responsible for anyone coming on to your property. It then becomes your responsibility to ensure that there are no risks for workers or yourself.

A sample may be collected so that you can proceed with a test to confirm traces of meth, asbestos, or mould. The collection of a sample for testing may be more appropriate in identifying a single material in part of a building where a tradesperson needs to work, or an area that was not previously surveyed and recorded to contain any of these harmful materials.

Independent testing is necessary to ensure that there are no conflicting interests once the presence of any or all of these biohazards is confirmed. To clarify, Chemcare is not a testing company per se, but we can refer you to the companies that do these tests for clients. We do not work with them and are in no way affiliated with them.
