5 reasons not all meth cleaning quotes are equal.

The meth testing and decontamination industry are currently unregulated which has created some variance in quotes and pricing. While some have evolved their processes, others are still perfecting their techniques. Unfortunately because not all techniques are equal, this means there are huge variations in cost. The most expensive doesn’t mean it’s the best, and the cheapest doesn’t mean the worst. Not all meth cleaning quotes are equal, and here are the 5 main reasons why.

1.    Cheap cleaning equipment and techniques

A cheap quote can often mean short-cuts are being taken or alternatively, the company has perfected their techniques and are truly efficient. But how are you supposed to know the difference? Some use foaming techniques in an attempt to neutralize the meth levels. However, if the company lacks experience and/or training this can often leave a sticky, unwanted and hazardous residue if not washed off correctly. There’s also not much known of the long term effects of this process. Chemcare will only use safe, approved and friendly cleaning solutions to make sure you aren’t left with any nasty surprise.

2.    If your house STILL has meth in it after it's 'cleaned'? Too bad, pay again.

As some companies lack the experience, techniques and equipment, it means the meth levels may only decrease slightly or not at all. Does the initial quote include the company coming back for follow up decontaminations? Probably not. Their initial quote usually implies the time and equipment for ONE decontamination. Chemcare however is committed to bringing the meth levels down to a habitable standard again quickly, with discretion and with respect for the property. This is all included in that original quote, no questions asked.

3. You thought the Meth test you bought was the best value for money.

Cost for decontamination is often derived from the quality of the meth test. A test purchased at the cheaper end of the market could mean that the meth levels aren’t accurate and may only represent certain contaminated materials within the property. A worst case scenario would be the tester may know very little about the building’s construction which can cause huge issues down the track. A meth report lacking information may mean that the building materials in your property aren’t listed. There’s a huge difference between decontaminating a property with wallpaper versus a property with painted walls, or a property with carpet versus hard floor. If these aren’t listed, this could mean the difference between decontamination by cleaning or striping these materials out.

4. Removal is cheaper than decontaminating

Following on from the previous point, some decontamination companies will tend to remove building materials instead of decontaminating by cleaning. This is because it’s far quicker and does not require the same experience or expertise as decontamination by cleaning. Yes you are assured the contamination is gone, but the cost of reinstating these building materials could be considerable and often, unnecessary. Chemcare may consider stripping out building materials at high levels of methamphetamine, however there are alternatives which we are always happy to discuss.

5. Safe disposal of contaminated materials

Contaminated carpets, plasterboard GIB, furniture and other un-restorable materials sadly often have to be disposed of. Chemcare has a strict policy and operational procedure to how these contaminated materials are transported and disposed of. Chemcare uses certified waste carriers which have licenses to transport hazardous waste. The waste is then buried in an approved facility under strict conditions, away from public. A “crush and burial” certificate is provided as evidence of this. Sadly not all waste in the industry is handled with such care and could prove to be extremely unsafe as contamination may spread.

As you can see, there are many variables when it comes to quotes. What you see is not always what you get, however Chemcare aims to do this and be as transparent as possible.
